Teacher Education

Teachers who love children and are passionate to observe children learn are welcome to apply. Inspired by the vision of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother, we have curated an extremely well-thought through program, called The Sacred Classroom© Teacher Education Program aimed at facilitating self-empowerment through holistic well-being, inner transformation and growth along with discovering the joy of teaching and learning. Class Pillar

The Class Pillar plays a vital role in upholding the school’s vision of holistic education through a mindful, respectful, and compassionate approach to teaching. This educator embodies the school’s values by modeling conscious presence, curiosity, and a genuine love for children.

Through participation in reflective practices, Prajna workshops, and Sacred Classroom trainings, the Class Pillar remains committed to personal growth, deep self-awareness, and continuous professional development as part of an ongoing journey to understand what education truly means.

Within the classroom, the Class Pillar ensures a structured, engaging, and nurturing learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and inspired. IT Support Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an IT Support Engineer with strong IT Network knowledge, all round IT troubleshooting skills, a willingness to learn, and a dynamic aptitude for managing various IT systems and technologies. We value proactive individuals who ensure smooth IT operations and are eager to acquire new skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot IT issues – Networking, Hardware and Software.
• Ensure network uptime is maintained.
• Manage IT assets inventory.
• Assist administrative staff, teachers and students with IT needs.
• Oversee biometric attendance devices, printers, CCTV systems, computer labs, networking, GPS systems, and vendor collaboration for smooth IT operations.
• Deploy and manage audio/video systems for events and workshops.

Qualifications

• A diploma, degree or certification in IT, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in system administration and IT management.
• Prior experience in educational settings and familiarity with the mentioned platforms is advantageous.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a warm, responsible, emotionally mature and caring House Parent / Matron who enjoys working with children and adolescents and is comfortable being part of their everyday residential life.

The role goes beyond supervision. The House Parent is a trusted adult, caregiver, pastoral support person and role model who works closely with the House Warden, Class Pillars, Coordinators, Tutors, Counsellor, Wellness Centre and Administration to support the overall well-being of children.

The successful candidate will understand that sometimes pastoral care means having a meaningful conversation—and sometimes it simply means noticing that a child needs clean clothes, a haircut, a proper meal, help with their belongings or someone to listen.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Pastoral Care & Emotional Well-being

• Build warm, respectful and trusting relationships with children.
• Be available to listen and provide emotional support.
• Support children experiencing homesickness, friendship difficulties, conflict, disappointment or adjustment challenges.
• Know the children well and notice significant changes in their behaviour, mood, eating, sleep or social interactions.
• Encourage empathy, responsibility, resilience and healthy relationships.
• Support dorm/House circles and other community activities.
• Identify concerns early and refer them appropriately to the Counsellor, House Warden, Class Pillars, Coordinators or other members of the pastoral team.

2. Everyday Care & Personal Well-being

The House Parent provides practical support to ensure that children’s everyday lives are organised and cared for.

This includes:

• Laundry and linen coordination
• Personal hygiene and grooming
• Haircuts and routine personal-care needs
• Clothing, uniforms, footwear and toiletries
• Personal belongings and organisation
• Menstrual hygiene and other personal-care requirements
• Support with age-appropriate daily routines

The aim is to support children while gradually helping them become independent and responsible for their own lives.

3. Health, Wellness & Nutrition

• Observe and respond appropriately to children’s health and well-being needs.
• Coordinate closely with the Wellness Centre regarding children who are unwell.
• Visit/check with the Wellness Centre and remain updated on children from the House who are receiving medical care.
• Support medical appointments and recovery as required.
• Administer or supervise medication only in accordance with authorised medical instructions and School protocols.
• Supervise meals and encourage healthy eating habits.
• Be attentive to children who regularly skip meals or show changes in appetite.
• Liaise with the Kitchen regarding dietary requirements and food-related concerns.

4. Residential Life & Daily Routines

• Support morning wake-up, preparation for school, evening routines, study and bedtime.
• Supervise appropriate residential routines and student movement.
• Ensure children are punctual for classes, meals, activities and other commitments.
• Supervise tuck/snack time.
• Help maintain a calm, respectful and positive residential atmosphere.
• Support children in following routines while responding sensitively to genuine individual needs.

5. House Management

The House Parent works with the relevant support teams to ensure that the House is clean, safe, functional and welcoming.

Responsibilities include:

• Supervising housekeeping/support staff assigned to the House.
• Monitoring cleanliness and hygiene.
• Coordinating laundry and linen requirements.
• Monitoring residential supplies and reporting shortages.
• Reporting maintenance and repair requirements to Administration.
• Following up on operational issues affecting children’s comfort and safety.
• Working with Administration to support the smooth running of the residential facility.

6. Safeguarding & Safety

• Maintain a safe and respectful environment for all children.
• Remain alert to safeguarding, bullying, emotional distress, health and behavioural concerns.
• Follow all School safeguarding and child-protection procedures.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and know the relevant escalation procedures.
• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Escalate concerns to the appropriate professional rather than attempting to manage matters beyond the scope of the role.

7. Collaboration & Communication

The House Parent works as part of an integrated residential and pastoral team and will collaborate closely with:

• House Warden, Class Pillars, Coordinators
• Tutors
• Counsellor
• Wellness Centre
• School Administration
• Kitchen & Catering Team
• Housekeeping & Support Staff
• Academic and Activities Teams
• Parents/Guardians, through the appropriate School structure

Effective communication, timely follow-up and accurate handover are essential to the role.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for someone who combines warmth with responsibility and care with appropriate boundaries.

Essential

• Graduate in any discipline from a recognised institution.
• Minimum 3 years of full-time experience working with children/adolescents in a reputed residential or boarding school or comparable residential educational setting.
• Experience in pastoral care, student welfare, residential supervision or child care.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassion, patience and emotional maturity.
• Ability to remain calm and grounded in challenging situations.
• Willingness to work in a residential school environment, including evenings, weekends and on-call responsibilities as required.
• Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Desirable

• Experience coordinating medical follow-up and working with a Wellness/Medical Centre.
• Experience coordinating housekeeping, laundry, linen or residential support services.
• Training in child safeguarding, adolescent development, mental health or pastoral care.
• Experience supporting children with homesickness, adjustment difficulties, emotional distress or interpersonal challenges.
